Just started @110K miles, goes away with slight pressure on clutch pedal, continues in gear with clutch engaged. Does go away after a few miles of driving, but right back each morning. Did some research and found this was a design flaw on the 2nd gens and URD made a sleeve kit and oversized bearing. Dealer fixes never addressed the problem. Is the transmission a carry over from 2nd gen or new but never addressed the input shaft/TB retainer flaw?

The 3Gen uses an RC62F transmission, that I believe is upgraded over the 2Gen transmission. I know ratios are different. Maybe @Jowett or @gearcruncher can give more info. I don't believe the URD upgrade will work with your tranny, and think it may just be a bad throw out bearing... just luck of the draw, and yours failed...

Edit: I found the info, 2nd gen uses an RA60 transmission. These are not the same family of transmission. So the parts are most likely interchangeable.

The input shaft/snout wear issue was resolved by going back to a traditional steel snout/bearing retainer. It still constantly runs the bearing against the pressure plate fingers, though... so that is most likely your chirping noise... things are wearing out.

There's been some discussion in various threads. This one lead to a hydraulic release unit.. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...utch-system-shenanigans.698464/#post-24723722

I'll be tackling a HD bearing for my truck at some point.
