Hello. Anyone have a recommendation for a group that helps new off roaders learn the ropes. I am an older woman so it would be great if the group was open to that.

    Thanks.

    Region is hugely important.

I know Hollister Hills in California had a thing like that; its a whole day long event and you have a choice in the type of trails you'll take and how to take them.

Otherwise, the best way is by going out with others.

It's how most of us learn, that is if we don't go out alone like the rest of us

Thanks, Kwikvette. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have gone off-roading as a passenger for years with my Arizona family. My brother sold me his well loved Tacoma. With his guidance, I have some training and did one trip with him. I would love a group in my area to go with for the first year or so. Thanks again to the forum.

Well there you go, Hollister Hills is close enough.

Check it out, they have events.

Just to be clear, I have a TRD Off road 4x4 with an additional low gear. Not a 2WD.

Doesn't matter, plenty of people off road with a 2WD.

there are different kind of offroaders, rock crawlers, overlanders, desert runners. I just like traveling. Im not into doing off chutes and stuff. I always see vehicles that have no business crawling with a house in ther bed. Find a great group online on facebook
