Anyone who is disconnecting your rear driveshaft for dinghy towing, how are you supporting the driveshaft while disconnected? Is there any reason to think the forward end of the shaft will extricate itself going down the highway?

on the 4x4 you are bolted to the flange of the transfer case. Only thing id worry about is the rear portion of the section after the slip joint as its really only held together at that point by the clamps on the boot of the slip joint. A ratchet strap to hold the rear section of the shaft up n out of the way would be fine (assuming you are unbolting the shaft at the rear pinion)
