Boutique built computer is a good way to go as well as long as you don't mind spending a lil extra. Got mine from Maingear. Super easy picking everything out and plug n play

 

Don't waste money on brand name panels. I have the 1080p version of this. AOC panels are made by Samsung. Google the brand and save a few hundred.

Yep. So how many M.2 slots the mobo has and make sure their at least PCIE 3.0. 4.0 be rad but at that price point it ain't happening.

 

Good rule of thumb for Televisions too. Buy the screen manufacturer, not the brand on the box

 

LG got smart to that trick with their OLED panels. They are the only ones using them. So, I bought an LG TV. lol

LG OLED is what's up.

Mine's ~5yr old and has issues with game burn-in and reds being washed out, but it still looks great. Eventually it'll be retired to a shop/office TV and get replaced by a new LG OLED, thus continuing the beautiful cycle of life (and corporate profits!)

 

What made me buy one is I had already had a Samsung galaxy s6 and it blew me away. First phone with OLED I believe.

A couple years later after graduating college I decided to get the TV. Not even mad that it was $2500. Everyone always points out how thin it is. And the 4k output is amazing.

 

Me too. I bought the 65” C1 on black Friday from Costco. Picture is amazing. It replaced a 10 y/o plasma though, but I now want to replace the other TVs with an OLED.

Head unit manufacturers need to move on from 1024x768, blow past whatever they've missed in the 8 decades since, and embrace OLED.

I mean, damn, why does a head unit always gotta have a contrast ratio of like 1:69?
