This doesn't answer your question (I think your resistor is installed wrong)..... I installed multi - function LED's front and rear (including high mount stoplight, front markers, license lights and interiors) soon after buying my 2015 Sport, fronts were switchbacks (3157 - CK's), I have DRL's that I never turn off.
I installed two resistors per side on the bulkhead behind the rear taillight using stainless screws. Using an infrared temp thermometer, resistors did NOT heat up with parking lights on (including fronts - DRL's on). With turn signal flashers on, (about 4 minutes) the resistors got to about 155 degrees (hot to touch, but no hotter). The metal bulkhead they were attached to helps to dissipate the heat and no wires are near enough to be affected by the heat. Trouble free for seven years.

The one on the Tacoma. The drawing is for a led lamp for a rear facing lamp on a towing trailer. That's why it reads Stop/Turn & running lights.

Can anyone clarify for me? If I have leds in front and rear turn signals with DRL, do I only need one pair of load resistors on the rear to resolve hyper flashing and to avoid excessive heat from DRL?

see pic #41 - 1 pair PER SIDE (fill the wire taps, if you use them, full of silicone before tapping the wires)

So I shouldn't need a second pair for the front is what I want to make sure of. That's what I'm gathering, just want to confirm. Thanks for the response!

    These are what I use
    Front: (Switchback)

Rear: (If you don't want Switchback then buy 2 sets of these)

Why did you need two resistors?
And what wires did you tap into?
    Thanks!

From what I am reading, you need one resistor per LED light? Looking at the load resistor wiring diagram, you can have LED daytime running lights with no heat to the resistor until you use the turn signal. 61AZic-UDCL._AC_SL1307_.jpg

That would wishful thinking. Less heat than halogen, but always ON (DRL) = heat.

The resistor is not using the (DRL) wire so no heat until you activate the turn signal.

I just went and checked my 2010 and there is no power to the turn signal wire until the turn signal is on while the DRL's are on! :smack:

Really? Your TACO is special...since the Turn signal Relay provides juice for DRL and TURN through same wire.

A month or two ago I wired up the same cheesy resistor shown as shown. I believe it only heats up when the turn signal is on as Firefighterdan suggests!

    No hyper flash anymore!
