What is this God awful howling sound??

    Is this the dreaded rear diff howl? Or could it be carrier bearing, or lower A-arms whistling. Seems to happen most around 25-30mph, but has done it at lower speeds and higher speeds...always around the 2k rpm mark. Sound happens during first 5 seconds of this short video.

    If it happens only when your AC is on, there’s a vent in the system that sounds like that. That’s not an issue, it’s a design thing. Take notice if you hear it with the AC off (keep in mind the defrost setting automatically turns AC on).

    I hear the same noise on my 22. Living in FL my a/c is always on, I’ll check tomorrow with the a/c off, hopefully I don’t hear it.
