My work group is growing and the higher-up's at corporate just leased a 150ksqf warehouse for our future location. It's a new construction, will take few months to build the interior and outfit the building. But, every time I leave home for work, it will be 80 miles round trip, 100% highway.

I found one locally, 2012 with 160k miles, asking $12k.

I'm not dead set on that since I have plenty of time to shop around. My question is how reliable it is in general?

I like those. Think of it like a sporty prius with leather seats.

Or actually more like a sporty corolla hatchback thing with leather seats

Coworker had one back when they were new. Pretty spartan for a lexus, but overall he seemed to like it.

Another thought - do some research on the battery situation. A 10 year old hybrid could have the battery in kind of an unknown state, and something non-hybrid might get you just as good mpgs without the extra complexity if you've got plenty of highway driving.

It's a nice car but it's just small.

I'm 6', 190#, I could barely fit in and the gas pedal and brake pedals are so damn close. I don't feel comfortable at all.

Hybrids excel in city driving when it can switch to electric. If you’re doing long highway stretches you want a diesel.

My family has one that I drive somewhat frequently. On the freeway 75 MPH average I’m getting about 37 MPG.

The suspension setup and low profile tire makes it ride firm. Which does make it fun and nimble to drive.

The battery went out on it last year and was pretty pricey to get changed. Options are out there to replace a single cell opposed your the whole thing. As for reliability, we have put 90k on it with nothing but the battery. It’s at 160k now

Overall the car is pretty small, but if you’re not huge it shouldn’t be a problem. I’d give it a go, if you can find a good deal.
