Received the annual letter from the VA for the new payment amount for the upcoming year.

New payment amount calculates at 1.3%, same as last year, not the 5.9% that is being touted as the SS and VA COLA amounts.

Wondering if it's a 'general error' and all these notifications went out the same way?

I'm thinking (hoping) there will be a correction letter to follow, as there is a fairly significant $ value of non taxable $ involved here.

    Any input?

Is this for VA Disability Compensation?

Edit: if so, it looks like it’s a 5.9% increase. My payment for 2022 is up 5.9% compare to 2021. I also received no letter regarding a payment change or anything.

I'm wondering the same thing myself but I'm thinking it is. There is supposed to be to a compensation adjustment for the VA's FY 2022 according to their chart, and those receiving compensation are supposed to get some $100 more (off the top of my head so I could be wrong here) monthly.

By the way. That's a beautiful pup!

    Yes. In a nutshell......

Wife's deceased 1st husband was 100% disabled. She has a lifetime survivor benefit.

He passed in '06, and the annual VA amount has matched the announced SS COLA for those 15 years.

It looks like that too, I got a 5.9% increase. I wonder if the letter referenced by OP was sent out in error. And thanks! He’s a handsome fellow.

That increase was supposed to begin as of January right? I have not received a letter but I keep up with all my stuff digitally so the letters don't affect me if I receive them or not.

Thanks for the assist. We (I) decided to wait and see what the deposit was, which occurred today. It was a +5.9% as it was supposed to be.

The problem was all me. I was using the wrong number from the wrong letter to run the calculation. :anonymous:

I think I hit a slight panic mode because we've had a few hiccups with the ChampVA process for her this year.

Oh well, all is right with the bank account.

    Happy New Year!
