Hi all… so my wife’s Rav4 has its first paint chip courtesy of some dip shit. Thankfully there’s no dent, just this clean little chip.

I’ve never done any paint repair myself and would love to know if I can/should attempt… any feedback from you pro’s would be much appreciated.

The vehicle is a 2020 Rav4 with the blizzard pearl (I believe) chip is on the door.

    TIA

I would just touch it up with some Duplicolor Scratch fix. You can use it again when you get more scratches. It comes with a tiny brush that you can cover the scratch with. Auto Zone or even the Toyota dealership parts department will have it.

Paint pin. I used Duplicolor I believe.
Shake it well, dab it on, let it dry. If then use the clear coat side of the pin to cover.

Had mine “touched up” for 2 years or more. And it’s still holding fine. Probably 20 trips though the car wash too. And it isn’t the touchless type either.

As for looking good. I didn’t do the best I could. I was going more for keeping it from rusting. Not looks. But the color matched great.

Had the same chip on my door, and I just bought the correction paint pen from toyota. You wouldn't even know it's there unless you're really looking for it. Good luck!

I think I would just leave it be and let it rust, but this is probably bad advice.

Looks sort of high up on the door to be caused by another driver's door.

    Any idea what caused it?

Too me it looks like a rock was flung by something like a string trimmer, or another vehicle's tire.
