    Hello guys and gals.

I just picked up an old 2005 tacoma for my soon to be 16 year old son. The previous owners swapped out the bench style seat for a pair of leather bucket seats. The drivers side has a neat little pump that fills up a lumbar support.

I believe but cannot confirm that the original seat belts were left in place. But they flop around and look kind of bad.

I want to explore using a buckle that attaches to the bolt shown in the second picture but I don't know if these are actual tacoma seats or what kind of seats they are to start a proper search.

So far none of the leather tacoma bucket seat searches have turned up anything resembling these. I'm afraid if his mother sees these seat belts I'll be in deep spit.

    Thanks for any help.

BassAckwards you rock!!! Thank you. That solves a mystery for me. Any suggestions on a seat belt receiver that would bolt to the mounting bracket?

Ha ha... after looking at the first pic and seeing the label staring me in the face I feel like a total idiot. As my grandmother was so fond of saying "Ain't no medicine for stupid."

Lol it's all good, i do the same thing from time to time.

As far as a belt receiver, i am not sure as i still have the stock seats, so i dont have much experience there. You may check with @JuanitoBunito and see what he did on his truck. He has Corbeaus in his, and he always has things set up super clean/oem looking. Perhaps he can chime in.

    Also, welcome aboard man!

Not sure what kind of seats those are but they look like recovered oem seats, but I’m probably off. In the second pick I see a male stud sticking out from the frame. I believe a bracket that holds the receiver from the seat belt gets secured to it. I’ll go out and check mine in a few minutes

This is how mine are on. This is the drivers side receiver.

The stock receiver should be bolted to the floor separate from the seat. IMHO that is the best config. If those seats come detached during a collision the seat belt will (should) still hold you and the seat to the floor. (at least it's supposed too, that bolt should be a bit more stout than the seat mounting hardware). I trust the seat bolts to hold the seat separately from the seat belt. That makes 5 total bolts holding you in vs relying on just 4. The more the merrier.

I do remember unbolting the belts from the floor. I’d have to go back in my truck to check if that bracket the receiver is on is bolted to the floor or is indeed off the seat mount.

Thank you! I'm fast becoming a fanatic. I have a 2019 but to be honest, I kind of enjoy rolling around in my son's 2005 manual better. It's fun to be part of an enthusiastic and passionate community!

Yes, this is what I'm thinking about doing. Murd3rd brings up some great points though and I'm definitely taking his council under consideration. The Seat Belts in her now are in fact bolted to the floor. The stud is affixed to the mounting bracket which is bolted to the floor and onto which the seat is bolted.

So JuanitoBunito, are your seat belts just OEM seat belts on a 2014 Tacoma? If so I might just order a pair and see if they'll work.

Yes, my belts are the original stock oem. The bracket attached to the receiver would get secured right to that stud.

I completely agree with the comment on the belts being bolted to the floor being the safer route. However, my mentality is on this that, I’ll be fine having my receiver bolted securely into the seat bracket. If I get hit hard enough to have the 4 bolts of my seat bracket ripped out of the floor…..I got bigger problems than my seatbelt. That’s just me, no offense to anyone that disagrees.
