Everyone already knows the SS3 Max lights are great, but I was really impressed with the results and had to post my own comparison. The fog lights went from "I think they're on" to "I can't wait to turn them on." Only downside I've noticed in these comparisons is less light on the sides up close. I'll have to see how that plays during regular driving.

Got the headlight upgrade and KCs up top. The C series floodlights on the side are great as well!

Very nice. How hard is it to swap out the fogs? What sort of disassembly is required? Oh, I just found a Tacoma install video on the DD site. I'll have a look at that first.

Edit: looks easy peasy. Although the video doesn't show how to connect the model with the backlight, but I suspect that would just require that you tap the existing amber running light wire above and splice it into the SS3 harness backlight wire.

I almost put it off as it was freezing cold in the shop but two Phillips screws on each fog light and they come right out. Spent more time trying to get the screws back in blind and tighten the aiming screws after because I didn't want to disassemble the fender liners. It's the easiest mod I've done so far.

The backlight versions don't have a video yet as they aren't yet in the wild. The connections are the same, but as you suspected there's just an additional wire that you can tap into whatever you'd like. It'll share the ground with the OEM fog light wiring so you can just steal power from wherever works for you. Most folks will probably tap their parking or running lights.

Looks similar to the TRD faux grille I've got, maybe Tego can confirm.

The OEM H11 fogs do illuminate just a slightly wider area than the Max.
    85 degree spread - The OEM 12-15 and 16-19 TRD wide-angle H11 fogs.
80 degree spread - The Max, with drastically higher output intensity.
90 degree spread - The Pros, lower intensity than the Max.

Thanks for the numbers, interesting to see just how much difference 5 degrees makes. Driving around tonight I didn't miss the extra side light on the road, but it did come in handy on some dusty trails. Guess that means additional lights are in order.

Forgot to add, the stock fog lights were running a Nokya 2500K Hyper Yellow halogen bulb in these pictures. Color was alright but slightly less output than factory.

@TegoTaco what are you running for those A-pillar pods? SS3? Pattern?
