i just bought a pair of 3rd Gen TRD pro headlights. Unfortunately one of the mounting tabs on the driver side light broke into 4 pieces during shipping.

Without this piece will the headlight remain stable?

Is it illegal to have a broken headlight tab?

Would it be advisable to try to glue all those pieces together?

Or, is there a good place to send these to for repair?

Unfortunately it was a private seller. He doesn’t have a replacement. I filed a claim with USPS, but just looking for options if they don’t pay for the full amount.

Looks like you have 3 of 4 so it should be sufficient. I would try gluing the pieces together with some sort of plastic epoxy.

Awesome, just didn’t know if that would be sufficient. I’ll see how the claim works out. At some point I’ll probably buy another one from an actual dealership.

Hey guys I have a 2020 trd pro and just now I seen that the top tabs of my headlight snapped off, not sure when or from what. Any one know if it could be fixed or replaced under warranty if not a good way to fix them
    Thanks

My son bought a plastic welding kit on Amazon to repair a broken headlight mounting tab on his Power Wagon, and it uses metal "staples" for the repairs. It worked great. The staples heat up like a light bulb filiment, melt there way into the plastic and get embedded into the plastic to reinforce the repaired area. You put a few of them along the lenght of the crack between the two pieces (like stitches). Then you go over it with the tip that looks like a soldering iron and weld the plastic on the surface back together. I think it cost him about $25 for the kit.

It did for my son. The kit he bought came with wire staples in different configurations so you can work on various repairs, not just flat ones.

There's also a ton of how-to videos on You Tube about plastic welding.

I had a tab broken on my VW. Completely sheared off while swapping out. Used epoxy putty, just use a lot of putty around the break(s) even if its bulky because it won't matter once the tabs in place. It's been 2 years and its solid and still holding.

There are many ways to fix it. I know Toyota does make select tab repair kits but they only make them for certain tabs on certain lights. There are different methods to staple the tab as mentioned above and you can also plastic weld it if you have access to a nitrogen welder. The staples and welding can have a learning curve. Personally, I’d just epoxy it back together with jb weld.

I agree, the simplest would be JB Weld.

    None.
The same exact thing has happened to me with a set of Pro lights. The drivers side tab broke during shipping. Could I get that housing off you??
