I went with a Kenwood Excelon series HU. I still have stock speakers for now but i did add sound deadening to my doors and that made a world of difference. Search for some of my previous post with pics. I do have some Morel speakers to replace the fronts with but i am waiting on my amp from Audio Control. Just the HU and Noico sound deadening in the doors are night and day difference

One of the best features I decided on was wireless connection with my phone. It uses wifi for Apple and Android, so the audio quality is great. And wireless, so no cords and no forgetting my phone. Also wanted 4-5V preout for my amps, to get the best signal with low interference. Went with a Kenwood Excelon headunit as well. Had it for 3 years, and it’s the first one I’ve kept this long.

Dasaita and Joying android head units are quite popular. There is a thread devoted to each brand. I did just install a Joying in my 2013. As for speakers, just about anything is going to improve your sound. Infinity, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, JBL, Pioneer, etc. are all quite popular.

Suggest to poke about on Crutchfield.com for HU and speakers. The site will sort for products that fit your truck. From there its a matter of picking/choosing items to fit your budget and wants.

are you going active or passive? tweeter stock locations or pods(Morel has those flush and angle pods in their kits)?

Crutch had some dmx1057's in stock that sold fast with more on the way in.

Dude! $1500 for a dmx1057 and $271 for the wiring and other stuff to make it work! Not really budget friendly. Looks nice, though.

Have only had it for a couple weeks, but I'll second the Joying head unit. Such an awesome upgrade from my stock '13 JBL head unit. Went with the 9" (no knobs) since I have steering wheel controls. As fizik said, dive into the 25 page thread haha

Yup, the Joying and Dasaita units do that, too.

FWIW, the best back-up camera isn't in the bumper/tailgate or displayed on the HU.

Turn around and look. YOUR eyes are magnitudes better than any camera.

Joying and Dasaita HUs support SWC right out of the box (although on the Joying, you do have to program them, which is pretty easy).

I will be using the Morel Crossovers that came with the set. I plan on using a Audio Control LC4.800 running 2 channels to the front 6x9 components and bridge the other 2 channels to run an 8" in the back. The rear door speakers will remain stock running off the headunit
