I think it started as kind of a joke and just ran away.

How many times have you heard people joke about being snowed in, stuck in the woods, out on the road without TP?
    1) The media started saying "prepare, prepare, prepare" along with a tagline joke about TP.
    2) I think people wanted to do something so they seized on the TP thing.
    3) Media now picks up on this and everybody and their brother jumps on the band wagon.
    4) Then people in stores start being shitty to each other. :rimshot:

That puts a slightly different light on it, but... it's bad practice because you're (Not you personally, of course) introducing additional connections and points of failure between supply and load. In a conventional 200amp service, a high-demand load such as an electric range, dryer, or hot-water tank would be an uninterrupted run from load to breaker on the main panel. In your scenario, you could have two or three interrupt points between supply and load. A sub should also never be the same or larger in capacity than the main panel.

Nice work:thumbsup: sometimes I'll get a coupling bore or seal sleeve that calls out tolerance like that. Gotta sneak up on those babies.

Factory worker logic right there: If you put off doing something long enough someone else might end up doing it. ;)

It's a shut off valve that leads to my pool house. Been there quite awhile and the lever had rusted off , so I figured I would put a new one in. We only use that house during the summer or when company visits.

Exactly! Well, except for the potted meat. That stuff will never go bad, I don’t know how people can eat it :puke:

Speaking of plumbing, I was watching “Ask This Old House” last night and they have a wobbly toilet in an old house. The floor had settled and it wasn’t level basically.

Plumber dude checked it all out and shimmed the low side and said it’s good.

There was at least a 3/4-1” gap. It looked awful and he left it that way

Yeah, the one that will replace it has a cast iron wheel on it instead of the lever. I'm sure it's the last one I'll have to put on there. Other one lasted about 10 years.

Oh yeah , plumbing sucks :annoyed:

I'm weak from chemotherapy so I'm not really into messing with it , but I don't want to have a blowout.

I've had to tighten the 2 bolts on the side before to stop that but I didn't use a shim.
