Ah but for the good old days. I remember when there were only a couple options available when you bought a new car. They were heater, am radio, power steering and power brakes. Oh yes and at first you paid extra for the option of an automatic transmission. All the options of yesteryear and a lot more are standard now. Life was simpler, I could actually repair cars then. I pulled many an engine and rebuilt them. My wrenches for the most part don’t touch vehicles any longer. But they look pretty all shined up sitting in my tool storage cabinets.

This thinking is bad ... along the lines of 4 WD Tacoma cannot be chained on the front tires. What design engineer thought that was a good idea. My T100 can be fully chained.

Because a Tacoma is just a car with a hole in the back.
There are no more real true work trucks anymore for the average joe.

They can however, they need different rims, width and offset and
    New style slim chains..

When I saw this section some one said 6-7 people over 60 might own a Kids truck? Well I am 70 years old and own one it is a 2022 TRD but this kid owns a 2021 Challenger GT and a 2017 JD4044M Tractor and still plows snow in -37 below zero wind chill snow storms! The last time I was out 17 hours plowing in my tractor so young people could get out!! This kid has more fun then most young guys do still and not ready to quit yet either! Last job 8 years ago was fighting Wildfires in my Water Tender I built from scratch in my Garage. 16 hour days and up to 70 days in a row. Try that you young farts! PS I still have my hair and a Vietnam Vet! Used to restore old stuff too did this 48 Power Wagon it had a Real PTO Winch on it and no electronics to confuse me, just 5 levers on the Floor and a Push Pedal Starter!

Sold it for $39,500.00 and bought my John Deere with it. It was $29K and I love it! I restored a M37 too have fun with them and move on to another. To me the building part is the most fun.

You have to find things to do to stay young even if your only young at heart! Don't give in to the your old and sit on the porch! When I die I will be doing something dangerous not in a dam nursing home or sitting on the porch! No friggen RV Crowd sipping coffee just talking! I will go out with a bang! I flew in this thing to take a picture of my place what a rush landing! Like sitting in a Lounge Chair just you and the Birds and cold as crap! I can't handle the City and live on 120 acres in Gods Country with my own Lake!

Hello there Willy-N! Seeing you are from eastern Wash state - how far from Fairchild AFB? That was my only time up to your state -- USAF aircrew survival school. Pretty area up there north of Spokane!

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

Sitting at 2F here right now and only heading up to the mid teens. I have to grab some gas for the snow blower today - ATV and UTV are full and ready to go for tomorrows storm.

The new bridge is all done with the exception of some guardrail sections. When I talked to the construction supervisor yesterday he thought they would come back today and complete it and clean up - planned to open the bridge to traffic today, too. As cold as it is, not sure that will happen but with the projected storm they have incentive to get it done. The guardrails are hilarious. Our road is a dirt/gravel one-lane farm road with 6 houses on it so we have little traffic. Speed limit is 25MPH. The guardrails extend 65ft from the 15ft bridge on both sides. . Our family has owned the property since 1968 and no one has ever ended up in the creek - they sure won't now. I had to get some township supervisor intervention at the least minute yesterday to have them shorten one of the rails so that I could access a piece of our property on the other side of the stream from us. I mow a small section there and the original layout they were going to put in yesterday would have prevented me from getting in to mow. I'll get some pittures today of the finished (or almost finished) bridge.

    Be safe out there!!

Thanks for the nice comments! I have a rough road the last few years and fighting my health issues. Been on Prilosec for over 10years started from the VA and outside Doctors kept me on it for way to long with no reason! I was at the point of being operated on Jan 11th and a snow storm hit so it was pushed out till spring. I got scared about what they were going to do to me. I did a lot of reading about Prilosec and it was causing all ,my problems for years now! Figure I have taken over 7000 of them and your only supposed to take 14 over 2 weeks??? Anyway I was told you can stop taking them after the operation and also all the antibiotic you have to take to because of them? I took it on my own to stop them and today I am off them completely and feel great! I never needed them and they just about destroyed my kidneys and many other problems due to being on them so long. At this point in life I have stopped 13 different drugs not needed they were giving me for side affects and the last one is now done. I am drug free and my body is pretty much normal again. I am in the process of suing the doctors and hospital for all the pain and suffering they caused by doing this to me! I have been in the ER over 10 times and they should have know what was doing this but kept saying it was in my head. Well not it is time for them to pay the piper big time! It is all documented and I have the records for 257 prescriptions they gave me I did not need! For the first time in over 10 years I can eat right and enjoy food again. I am so pissed off but happy they did not kill me nor have cancer that I know of? If your on that drug you need to wean yourself off it. I had to take the capsules apart to do this. If you take them only 14 days then it is easy to stop. Taking them for years is way different. Do I found there are 18 balls in each one and every 5 days I cu them in haft. 9 the first time then 4 then 2 then none and my body started producing acid in a normal way to digest my food right! If you cold turkey them your acid level will dump tons all at once. Just look up the side affects for taking Prilosec and you will see. I had most of them for so many years! There not a normal drug and not even good for you!

Seems like it is all about the money. When the Feds allowed SUV's to be classified as trucks, for EPA purposes, truck frames were changed to accommodate SUV's on the assembly line. I may be wrong, will not be the first time.
