Painted part of Door theshold "tape"?

The painted thresholds on all doors on my 2012 have what looks like some kind of an adhesive plastic piece on the painted part(not the plastic cover) . My 2014 PreRunner does not, & it's taller. The problem(beside the paint) is my dog's paws slip when wet. She crashed & burned once. Now is afraid to jump in. She has to use it, to get up to a platform I built over the jump seats. I don't want the heavy grit. Is there anything else out there?

 

You could cut and adhere your own pieces from a roll of this.

 

That looks like it would work! Some traction, but not sanded grit. The clear would be slippery. Boy, no wonder I wasn't getting any where Googling. Thanks, & my dog thanks you.
