Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Around here new Tundras are sold before even off the truck. 21and 22 models.

Edit: used ones aren't lasting long either.

I tried to switch, but I hated the ride of the Tundra vs the Tacoma. Tundra is definitely better for towing and cab room. I have a 2014 Tacoma and had bought a 2007 Tundra Crewmax, sold it after using it for several weeks and kept my Tacoma. :)

There are definitely advantages to both, but for my needs I decided to stay with the Tacoma.00Q0Q_B2yLrQcaVs_0kE0fu_1200x900.jpg 00101_7ivLdR3cS9nz_0CI0t2_1200x900.jpg

Happened last night - couldn't get the Taco seat and my back to agree, as well just needed a bit more from a towing and room perspective. Just need to check off the Seqouia and Land Cruiser boxes now :D

I think the design of the new 2022 Tundra is going to speak to Tacoma owners looking to up-size due to family or other concerns.

The one thing that will be a turn-off I bet though is that the 2022 Tundra cabs are now about 1.5" shorter than the 2021. This makes the Double Cab rear legroom only about .5" more than a Tacoma Double Cab...

Very much agree - again, it is very much the design language of the 3rd gen Taco for sure. I don't think it will impact on the crew max (honestly, I think proportionally it will be better for the CM), but yes - VERY much agree on the DC. I'm guessing that their market research shows that the large majority of buyers purchase the CM if they plan on using the 5 seats. Where I think they'll really move on buyers is that they now offer a 6'+ bed with the CM.

Tough call and revolves around your priorities - do you want a family hauler or do you want off-road capability? The Crew Max 6.5' bed is going to be really difficult to maneuver on trails and in parking lots/garages. I'm going to bet that the crewmax 6.5' bed configuration picks up a lot of the double cab sales from the previous generation. I have a 4 and 7 year old, both now in front-facing seats and am hoping they will fit ok in the new DC, but will probably end up having to get a crew max. The 5.5' bed is a major turn-off since I rate a bed based on how many kayaks I can haul in it. the 6.5' bed is a turn-off as well because of how long overall the truck is. I may end up getting the 5.5 and looking at bed-rack configurations that will maximize my carrying capacity, despite the shorter bed.

oh yeah for sure - off roading the 6.5 bed in CM would be pretty tough (more than fire roads and greens at the absolute most - maybe even then...). But if you're looking for a family hauler to have a larger hold in the back, that's the way to go. I had a 2500 Cummins before with a 6'+ bed - loved it for that - but did feel limited OR until I threw 35s on it with a moderate lift. Was looking at 37s a la AEV Prospector setup, but swapped back to the Taco by the time that happened (didn't think a 3/4 ton in southern CA wouldn't fit with the pop density and smaller parking lots - was I wrong when I saw more 3/4 tons than 1/2 tons ). but yeah, for me the overall length of the truck doesn't bother me just cause I was used to my 2500 and I grew up every summer on a farm with 8'+ beds and all sorts of trailer hook ups. My '18 CM feels like I'm driving my 4R again . The sad thing is that my '18 CM has a better turn radius and handling feel than the DC Taco I swapped it for...

I currently roll in an 07 tacoma with a cigarette lighter and cd player.

But I'm 1st in line for
    1. An Electric lime taco in a manual
    And a Solar 0ctane tundra.

Which ever truck I get is up to the Toyota gods.

Is trading in a Tacoma a good way to negotiate on a new Toyota truck? Vs selling Tacoma private party and then buying a new truck ?

Used trucks are through the roof and people are getting somewhat close to MSRP on the new redesign Tunnys if thats the route you want to take. Trading used for used may be a wash too though (sell high, buy high) depending on what youre looking for.

Had one under agreement last week that I walked away from, my truck and 20G's.
2019 w/20K Tundra was still priced 7K over what it was new. :annoyed:
Nice truck, just can't digest 11mpg when the Taco gives me high 19's.

Then I made the mistake of taking out a '22.... eww boy

50/50 I've been getting 13.5 mpg. when I'm commuting avg is 16 mpg - in town kills it, but hwy isn't nearly as bad as I was anticipating.

getting 14 .2 mpg and still love driving it :)

the new model looks great, has me thinking if want to deal with new tech or not. If not going for new leafs, shackles and shocks soon.
