A few additions to make me feel cool.
If you could post this again on a Friday that would be great.

    Have your battery load tested.

Ok. Then the problem is somewhere in the starting circuit. Not the U-joints in the driveline.

I'd bet there is an oil leak that is fouling the starter solenoid keeping it from making contact.

Try the classic hammer taps on the starter solenoid and try and start it again. If it starts, replace the starter and fix the oil leak.

Most likely the start circuit won't try to activate the start solenoid.

You are/were getting the "click" from the start solenoid. This typically indicates a weak battery or the starter itself. The problem could be as simple as a loose ground or power wire to the starter.

If you dont think your starter can take a few taps (not swings or blows) then it's probably a rusty mess.

I diagnosed a bad starter on my dads car last week by a few light taps with a wrench. It was stuck in a parking lot and we were able to get it started and into my garage to replace the starter.

I don't believe you wouldn't even get a click from the starter if it was the N safety switch.
It's been so long and I haven't tried it but I know older vehicles would start in park or neutral.
I think your replacement starter has give up the ghost.

When it happens again listen carefully for a faint single click. If you hear that and the starter doesn't engage then you probably have a worn starter solenoid which can be repaired for less than 40 dollars and an hour of your time.

You can buy the contacts and plunger new from Nations Starter and Alternator for about 30 - 35 bucks. Much cheaper than hundreds for a rebuilt POS from Autozone etc.

    https://www.nationsstarteralternator.com/Starter-Rebuild-Kits-s/37.htm

Check this video for rebuilding the solenoid on the starter. The biggest issue with the V6 Engine and 4X4 is you have to take the starter out through the drivers wheel well area.

If you don’t have 35 pounds of air in each tire that’ll stop the truck from starting
And if the passenger side window is not all the way down the truck won’t start

Tap on the steering wheel twice put on your blinker shut it off put on your blinker the other way shut it off tap on the floor twice with your foot than it should start
