Hi I'm wondering if anyone have fitted 2 sundown sa10 classic behind their back seat. If you what kind of box and how do you like them.

    Thanks

Tough to do with an off-the-shelf enclosure. I used to have 2 JL Audio W3v3’s for a while. They were in a custom enclosure, but barely fit. I had to cut out the back of the enclosure and cover the hole with 1/8” pressboard. Even now, I have 2 Sundown SD-4 12” subs in a VERY custom enclosure that took me days to build. My SD-4s sound good, but with the lack of space back there, they’re really choked for airspace. I believe the SA-10s want a 1cu ft each, don’t they?

Idk about the airspace i have a custom box now with 2 sd3 10s but i dont feel like it gives deep bass. SA10s classic came to mind and they stick about 3/4

It’s not sticking “out” of the box that matters. It’s depth from the mounting surface “into” the box. My SD-4s are 5” deep, and they “fit”. The SA-10s are 6.5” deep. My box is 8” at the bottom and 4.5” at the top. I also spaced my seats an inch forward for the extra space. There’s a bunch of fab work that goes into making the space large enough.

Question on your box. Is it 2 separate boxes, or one large “shared space” box? I ask because the SA-10s need 1cu ft each of airspace. If they’re 2 separate boxes, odds are they’re about .6cu ft each, and you wouldn’t get much from the SA 10s in the same box either.
