Bought this truck from Carvana on Christmas Eve, 2021

was delivered 28 December. I paid too much, but happy with what got. 1 owner truck from Tennessee. 54k miles, 0 rust.

I ordered the 5100/885/deaver AAL and ECGS bushing before the truck even got here.

I also bought this set of wheels on fb marketplace, but have decided to go with another wheel.

Thursday 13jan I started the install on my carport. harbor freight Daytona jack, 4 jack stands, impact wrench and assorted hand tools. about 5 hours later, I had the bushing in, the front coils in, and everything finger tight waiting to be torqued.

this is my second ecgs bushing install. I found this video on line, and it really made the job quicker. did not have to loosen the axle nut, I very much recommend.

Cleaned everything up, back to work on Friday. I had to run to local toyota dealer to pick up lower shock bolt that I stripped out.

Parked next to this MGM 2nd gen while at the dealer. I'm on the right/ he was running a spacer lift, unsure what he had in the rear.

Saturday 15jan, spent the morning finishing the install. AAL went in smoothly. also installed Firestone airbags. had to stop before I finished the plumbing of the airlines. eventually I want some onboard air.

ordered a set of these last night. Magnetic Grey is a nice color, but it was difficult to find a set of wheels that suited me. tbh, I really like the stock trd wheels that are on it, but wanted a more aggressive offset to help me get up the boat ramp. I ordered these on line, coming from a Florida dealership. total price was $725 shipped. that was with a 10% trd discount, and free shipping

Just out of curiosity, how much is too much? Only 2nd Gen I've seen for sale recently is a 2011 AC TRD Off-Road with 133K miles for $21,900; My base 2010 RC 5-lug with 143K miles is worth about $12K.

i couldn't find anything as nice as my truck in this area, so i had to resort to internet. when i was looking (carmax, carvana, autotrader , ebay etc ....), i saw that the least expensive trd 4x4 dclb was $700 over it's original msrp. i paid more than $700 over original msrp...

a couple of pics of the 3rd gen tacoma I had before this truck. 2017 sr5 v6 4wd in quicksand. Bilstien 5100/OME 884 and Deaver aal from Headstrong. td pro wheels 16", 265/75 16r Goodyear ultra terrain. truck rode very well (car-like). It was a lease turn in that I bought at semi local dealer. i liked it, but it wasn't much for towing.

Decided against the bronze sema wheel, took them back. Dealer has a set of gloss grey/gunmetal wheels inbound for me.

FedEx left me some boxes yesterday. Looking forward to some new tires to go on these. These are the 5th set of wheels I’ve purchased for this truck. I think these are the ones, finally. I have a few things to do yet, going to order new rotors and pads today.

1 of the other projects. 1991 4x4 DLX. Was my sons first truck. We sold it, I got it back. Looks like shit, but really runs great. Another slow build.

Bought another project today. Kind of excited about this one. 1990 Suzuki Samurai 4x4. It has a couple of rust spots, not perfect, but not molested either.

I moved my .25” taco lean spacer to the passenger side, added a .5”spacer to the driver side. Much better. Not level, and not so much rake. Also new akebono pads and ebc rotors.

Sharp truck and low miles too. You've got a desireable color, model and year, congrats. Post pics when you get your wheels on, should look great.
