    I change oil based on the taste. Once its too chocolate syrupy, its time to put more olive oil in.

    I’ve changed my own since day 1 and use factory filters and Mobil 1 0w20 every 5K. 60K miles and runs like it’s new.

    Pft... I've had 2 3rd gens and never burned any oil. Drove 20k a year without adding oil ever. Followed the 10k intervals.

    I think lower than that is throwing away money. But if it makes you happy whatever.

    I like that guys videos. I don’t put many miles on my truck so basically change the oil yearly (per the manual and what this guy is saying).

    Get ready for the “so you know more than the Toyota engineers you’re an idiot if you change synthetic oil more often than 10,000 miles” shitstorm lol.

    Reminder- the manual for 3rd gens says 10k miles/Yearly. If it’s been a year since your last oil change and you only put 4k miles on it since then, time to change the oil. Per the manual and due to the fact that an infrequently driven truck allows more oil contamination.

    This is why I do not. 72k miles and still doesn’t use a drop.
    Another point to consider is the post oil change startup is the dryest startup your engine will ever see.

    No argument here. I went on the special conditions/5000 mi schedule because the manual said it was the thing to do for my driving situation. After watching that video, I don’t think I’ll change it.

    50,000 mile change intervals for me using strictly the purest whale oil. Those massive mammals are constantly in motion for 50-70 years.

    Uh oh, viscosity creeping up there… haha. Not a bad idea to have it tested. I just put the money it costs on an oil change since I do annual changes as noted above. Are you really going 2 years between oil changes? Not me.

    Some of you guys are waiting till 5K to change your oil? That's crazy! You guys probably wear the same underwear for multiple days...gross. I change my oil daily to keep my Taco as fresh as possible.
