I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD off road, and I installed the RCI rock sliders myself yesterday, but the backer plate does not align with the bottom of frame cross- member hole. I don’t think I install them wrong, because every other hole aligns correctly.

Has anyone had this issue with installing them?

When I installed mine I had to barely thread each bolt until I could get them all on then had no problems getting everything to tighten up. I will say this is not a job to rush since you have to finagle a few areas around wires and such.

This. Installing heavy steel items can be really tricky and look impossible, especially if you fully tighten one side first. May just be an issue with the fabrication, but try to loosen everything and start the bolts

How did this turn out? Fabrication or installation error

Ok y’all update and the reason it didn’t align was because my truck was a 4X2 truck and these were made for a 4X4. This was totally my fault for not checking the compatibility and not knowing the frames are different. But I recently traded in my 4X2 for a 4X4 and installed the rock sliders on and everything aligned great. Would totally recommend these rock sliders!
