Yup, I wear Merino wool socks & long underwear bottoms & tops. Been doing that for several years now. But the Thermacell boot warmers really help. Use them for work, too, along with a DeWalt heated jacket (20 volt battery powered) plus a Merino wool hat and a Nomex hood (fire dept. use).

Just took the dog out back to take a piss and what is in the back yard???? 1 big doe and 3 yearlings!!!! Even with the flood light on and me and dog Ranger outside they never really spooked till I snorted at them. See only 1 deer while hunting and now 4 after I am done - figures, right??

people who process their own deer, how far do you go when cutting the silver skin off and all that? I feel like i'm spending so much time trying to get every little piece off that what should take 2-3 hours ends up being 4-6 instead. Just tryin to see if i'm a crazy person here and need to scale back some.

More particular on my steaks and roasts than what gets ground. Although I don’t grind my own

If you’re doing all of the processing yourself then be as particular as you want. I bone mine out then take it to the butcher shop to have sausage and sticks made. Even though I try to get 70-80 percent of the so called silver skin off, the fact is most shops make 200-400 pound batches so your meat is getting mixed in with several other people’s meat. It takes me about 3 hours to skin and debone a good size doe.

She is sliced up and bout to go in the freezer. It's still not quite as salty as salt cured pork, but it is freaking good. Got several good slices and a bag of chunks for some dried beans or something.

Bed led, under hood led, secondary auxiliary panel,
I do all my own and take out a lot of silver off steaks and trim from grinds. I grind my own also. All depends on your likes, we had a shoulder crock pot roast tonight and I made it a bone less roast and it fell apart no silver that I ran in to, even my kids finished it all

they found both of these out there in the last 2 weeks. in or around the fields. they are not hooked together thats just where he hung them. who knows, road kill, poached, dont know, only got the pic to see if was the one i wounded. not even close. add some mass and @7in in spread. hoping the trail cams get him on camera949A9B83-47FF-41FA-B8A2-C5DA18722120.jpg

I'm a second season bow hunter. Shot my first doe in September, didn't figure out the rut, hoping for another in late season, but so far all I've got was cold. I was out yesterday but nothing within bow range. Likely trying again Saturday, archery goes through the end of the month here in Maryland.

Not sure if it's been posted on here before but corned venison (Reubens mmmmm) has been one of my favorite recipes so far, this is the recipe I've mostly followed the two times I've made it https://honest-food.net/corned-venison-recipe/
