I can't find this info anywhere. It seems to be top secret for 3G. I'm adding a 2.5 shim to try to stop a very small vibe on 2019 DCSB OR. I'm hope there's a forum genius that can answer this so I dont have to take it off and walk to town to get 1 if it's too short for adding the shim

Thats what I was thinking but every leaf pack kit that gives detailed "what's in the box" center pin size stops at 2015, all the parts house online "find a part" say 3/8" wont fit your vechile and at the same time they list 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2 like its personal choice . There are even 100's of videos of installs and only 1's that mention the pin size are gen2

    I’d 3rd Gen springs fit a 2nd Gen.
You’d think the size would be the same?

But, If your luck is like mine, it won’t be. Lol

Maybe ask in the 3rd Gen forum?

I'll let it hang here for awhile. I'm sure somebodys gonna know the answer in this 1. With all the folks that lifted 3/2 and got a vibe, I can not be the only 1 that question the cut lenght of the pin while planning a shim install. This truck was already lifted at purchase. I see post about this just hanging with no answer on other forums so heres to more of the same

All add a leafs list 05+ and come with center pins.

    OP isn’t doing Add-A-Leafs.
    He is doing shims.

Apparently the shims he has, didn’t come with pins.

He asking for the size of the pin. If AAL’s list as 05+ the center pin must be the same between 2nd and 3rd gen.

I agree, that’s pretty much what I was saying in post #2 and #4 above.
If it were me, I’d go down and hunt some size 3/8” - longer bolts. Then hope for the best.

Yes sir they do. I bought this truck with add a leaf all ready on it. 1 owner traded in at dealer so no info on this available. The bump stop on leaf pack is hiding what i need to know. I would like to buy the correct center pin and cut it to lenght after shim install without taking it down and looking for a ride to buy correct size new pin

Just found this guy posting same question 5 months ago with no reply yet. If all the online parts houses didn't list 3/8, 7/16. 1/2 and 5/8"77.jpg as options for 2016-2021 I would say 3/8" is all Tacoma center pin size. Must be a liabilty issue. Plausible deniabilty

And the answer is Yes . 3rd gen Tacomas have 3/8" diameter spring leaf pack center bolt/pin. Maybe I posted this in the wrong place IDK. Hopefully this answer will pull up for future 3g owners that want to try axle shims to smooth out the ride and have parts on hand before the job starts. Hard to believe with all the 3g lift chatter on this site this was unknown or nobody was willing to answer. Watching all those youtube videos with those tiny hands make the bolt look like 5/8" but it is 3/8"

Did the shims address the vibrations tho?

Yes it did. Not back to factory ride smooth with 265/75/16 Grabbers but a noticable difference. I bought the truck with this AAL 1.5-2" on it . Axle sitting flat on the spring putting the angles outside of factory. I know some get away with not spending the extra $30(shims) to correct this on a $30,000+ truck

I bought some factory 3rd gen leaf springs but the guy couldn't remember which was driver and which was passenger. Does anyone know which is which?
