Is there a baby seat (she is 20 months old, almost 25 lbs) that are compact enough to fit in the back seat of an extended cab? We have one for the car and it's definitely too big for the back of the truck.

Time for a different vehicle. I went through the same thing with my previous truck (Frontier). Only way baby seat would fit is to slide passenger seat all the way forward and fold it forward. Truck was useless for anything more than 2 people.

My little dog refused to sit back there. I would use the other vehicle at all cost.

we have 2 kids, one of whom is 18 months and 30 lbs, the other turned 7 recently and is 53" tall

the only reason the crewcab taco still works is because my wife is 5'2" lol

i dont see how the extended cab can work well with a baby seat

Had an access cab for 5 years until i had kids. Went with a mega cab. Have 2 car seats and the wife can still decline her seat on trips.

When I went to buy mine, I looked on some website that measured a lot of brands for the most horizontally compact, and if I remember correctly the Britax Marathon ClickTight was the best pick. Have only had it rear-facing so far. It essentially only fits in the middle of the cab with the back between the two front seats. Of important note though: my wife is 5'2" and our little one is equally as small. Their legs being against the back of the AC seats might be a tad uncomfortable, especially with a taller toddler. We have made it work for 15 hour road trips though with no complaints from our toddler. YMMV.

Will see if I have a photo of it installed for reference.

Found a photo! Ignore the slant indicator bubble, as this was taken on my heavily slanted driveway.

Also, having patches is nice as you can move a few back there and it gives them something to look at. Gotta start their Toyota addiction young!

I've been looking into convertible car seats for my access cab as well. As mentioned above the Diono Radian is a very narrow seat that should fit width wise, but i'm not sure how it would fit with the seat in like 'position 1' or fully reclined for like an < 3 month old.
