Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

Welp I got stuck in my own damn driveway for a minute... Snow drifted and covered my tires last night. That magical 4WD button came in clutch. Also my neighbors got to see me being an idiot compacting the snow that the town left by my curb. Closest to offroading I'll ever get

Boss just called my coworker, been 5 weeks and no improvement on his feet. Boss ask him if he's been back to the doctor. He said no he can't drive. Boss said can't you get one of your brothers to take you? He said I didn't think about that.

My coworker has a 20 or 30 something year old son who is healthy but no drivers license who lives with him, all he's done since I can remember is play video games all night long. Hasn't had a job, poor parenting on my coworkers part.

I told my boss we're talking about a guy who had a leak in his radiator and had a new radiator but took 2 years to put it in. He had to add coolant everyday, I counted 27 jugs of empty coolant in the back of his Jeep one day. For what he paid for coolant he could have paid someone to install the new radiator for him.

Sometimes you can't help those that don't want to help themselves, end of rant.

Side note, I think we're hiring

 

I just told my boss mark my words January 18th, he will not be coming back to work. Only reason he'll come back here is to fetch his toolbox. He said you think so? I said yes sir.

I hate it, I've worked with him out here going on 27 years, he's one of the best machinist I've ever met.

 

Sounds like that for the best. If you can't figure out SOME means of getting yourself to a doctor... just wow.

I was wandering around a bit ago and I'm pretty sure it's worse out now than it was on Friday. We should all go home. For the next 4 months.

I always ate at my desk and generally used that time to catch up on paperwork, uncounted times people came in and said "I hate to interrupt your lunch but I ....."

 

I'll come work with you Shane, if your shop can pay me more than what I make here lol

 

Had a coworker do that very thing to me last week...my response was "then don't, I'll help you in x min when I'm off lunch and clocked back in" the expression on their face was priceless!

 

I wished that worked for us. We get paid for a solid 10hrs a day, so if shit hits the fan while I'm eating, yea that break is over. I have learned to set the time on the toaster oven though...
