I need to upgrade my fog lights and headlights or bulbs because of low visibility on mountain passes such as Carson Pass (88). Any ideas? I've been going back and forth with DD SS3 & BD Squadron (not SAE). Both amber. I need a wide lense like the widest and brightest pattern because some of the road sections are dark.

Just go with the DD I have the BD SAE version and like them but really think the DD are the better deal.

I had Baja Designs SAE on my Tundra. I just put DD SS3 Max on my Tacoma. These are in another league.

Another vote for DD fogs. I went with the Pros to make sure snow melts, otherwise the sports are $100 less

Just a bit of my personal recommendation. Extra lighting such as flood lens ditch lights and a light bar may also help. Not saying its legal to use on streets, but toggling them on / off when a car is coming is something to consider if safety is a concern. If it is constant traffic, then

Do you have OEM LED headlights? If so, keep them! If you have halogen bulbs... Look here. You can get a pretty solid upgrade for decently cheap:

As for the fogs... Let us set you up with a set of SS3s (go at least pro) and you'll enjoy a significant improvement in visibility when the conditions break down!

Also highly recommend Diode Dynamics. Great over mountain passes in the snow. Definitely go Pros or Max so they’ll melt off snow/ice.

@memario1214 will take care of ya ;) Took care of me!

That thread he linked has TONS of information. Don't be the one to just throw bulbs into improper housings and blind everyone on the road.

Not sure about where you live, but where I live I can get away with a light bar wired to my high beams. It's harder to see oncoming lights in some situations, but most places it's so much safer with the amount of light thrown. You could even just get a physical switch for it, but keep in mind that's another switch to hit when you do notice oncoming traffic. Lots of good options, lots of bad options. Don't rush into it, but the fog lights are pretty straight forward.

Hmmm, I'll be waiting for my OEM LED headlight upgrade...that's about $1350+. In the meantime, I'll check out this thread for halogen upgrade.

As for the Fogs...those are sweet!
