    Hey All,

Does anyone know if a heater core can leak without there being a cloud of steam or noise or anything?

Reason I ask is the carpet under my feet on the driver side is wet and won't dry up. We haven't had any rain in weeks and I (shamefully) haven't washed my truck in awhile. I have been running my heater for a bit in the mornings to take the chill off. But there is no noise, steam cloud, or coolant smell when it's on.

I know I have a little water penetration above the A pillar on the driver side where I installed an LED light bar above my windshield, but that was years ago and I never had a problem with it (at least not this bad).

Thoughts, options? I am going to reapply some sealer to the A pillar situation.

Very unlikely you wouldn't smell it or have windows fogging up.
Coolant runs through the heater core all the time whether your using it or not, have you checked if your coolant is low in the radiator?

2006. Probably a seam leaker. Check the TSB which was for 2005's but many 2006 and up have also had seam leakers.

This TSB is for a 2005, but many others have also had seam leakers. It may help you locate the leak and fix it yourself.

Here is the TSB for the seam leaks on the 2005 Tacoma. It has helped many repair their leaks on their Tacomas.

I will definitely investigate this concept this weekend.
    Thanks!

If you've used your air conditioner or defrost which uses your air conditioner maybe the evaporator drain is clogged. Pu your air on and see if it comes.out the drain like it should.it discharges under the glove compartment area

To reiterate- it's a driver side issue.
