This last weekend a buddy and I made the drive to southwest Colorado for a little camping. We did Stony Pass and Imogene Pass - both were amazing. Here's a photo I took on the last morning before heading back to Nebraska:

Unfortunately, the truck has been giving me lots of issues. It's been in the shop twice for AC issues, broken driver side window track/regulator, and now is either burning or leaking coolant. Really hoping there's a leak somewhere and not the head gasket, but we'll see. New CV's included, I've put a couple thousand into the truck within the past 2 months... Next up is new LCA's as the ball joints are on their last leg.

I've definitely had my eyes on Super Pacific campers recently. Who thinks I should put in an order for a 5 foot model so that I'm forced to pick up a DCSB 3rd gen when it's ready?

Any drawbacks over the GFC or do you still feel it’s a step above in most ways?

The main reason I want a double cab is more space for the dog + a roll down window, lol. I don’t wheel enough to be limited by a DCLB but I just feel like it’s a bigger truck than I’d like.

Two weeks back I put a deposit down on an FZJ80 but got a call back from the dealership hours later saying the title clerk overlooked that it was jointly owned and there was a divorce dispute. That fell through. I'm trying to set up a time to check another out in Denver this Friday. If it pans out, I'll post lots of pics!

Last week I picked this up in Denver. ‘94 FZJ80. Now to do my best to keep it off the salty roads until Spring!

Do you still have the access cab?

I remember following this thread when I had my dcsb up until 2018. Sold my raptor and came back to an access cab trd pro lol

Ya I'm still holding onto the Tacoma too! My plan to is to split driving between the two while building the Land Cruiser into a full blown overland vehicle as well. I might do the RTT thing or look into the sweet camper options from Campteq. I can't imagine I'd ever work up the courage to cut off the roof on such a clean vehicle but never say never.

Glad fate got you back behind the wheel of a taco :D

First mods will be the 2.5 or 3" OME lift and sliders. I think I'll keep these wheels since I think they fit the look really well. Might just take off the center caps. Then will come better tires. I might do 315/75/16 Ko2 but I'm not certain yet.

I'll be honest, I never thought I'd score a set of SCS wheels. I saw the notification on Instagram a couple weeks back and thought, meh, I'm fine with the wheels that came on my 80 (see my last post, haha). But then that evening I met up with a fellow Toyota buddy to grab a bite and the next thing I know he's talking me into adding them to my cart the minute the new inventory was released :D So, here we are! I also ordered a 2.5" OME kit through Slee and now just need to wait for KO2's in 285/75/17 to get back in stock. I think I'm gonna go with something a little more practical than 35's for those long distance trips. This truck should be right where I want it by late spring and I'm stoked.

I'm really loving the 80 series. So glad I pulled the trigger.

Here is a shot I grabbed with my phone tonight before installing sliders:

I also just ordered a Slee 'shortbus' front bumper, which is a bit more low profile and will hold a winch :anonymous:
