My boy Pepper is in for some minor surgery today. Removing a couple of cysts. Wish us luck!

My guy had a couple removed this summer. Other than being dopey AF the first day he didn't miss a beat.

    Best of luck, Pepper.

I dont know why, but everyone I hunt with has black labs. It gets confusing and at night it's just ambushed by cold noses and stolen seats.

Both dogs are Red Fox Labs, which really is a Yellow Lab with more of a red coat. Lexi is 51 lbs and Rosie is 55 lbs. I prefer yellow labs because we do a lot of quail hunting and it is easier to find ticks on a yellow dog vs a black dog.

Fox red is such a great color. It’s like a half and half. Half yellow and half chocolate. Maybe 60-40. Who cares. Cool color.

Tho I don’t hunt, we walk out by the duck ponds. Many folks bring dogs. I’d say mostly chocolate. Very few blacks or even yellows.

Damn, we're neighbors! Hey from A.G!

I've always had Blacks and I love the field coat from a shedding standpoint. Seems as though most yella dawgs tend to have that thick show coat, which is excellent for thermal protection but the shedding can be insane! My close, young friend that I introduced into waterfowling had a yella girl that was a great field dog. Daisy's been gone now for getting close to 10 years, a little less time than my boy Jack. I can guarantee that I can go out to my Ranger PU right now and pick up some of Daze's hair in the bedrug. It's on all my waterfowl clothes, too. It brings back good memories every time I come across it.

I really love the Fox Reds, though!

Every once and a while Kimo comes across a tuft of Riley. Before I can “get that outta your mouth”, it’s gone. I can’t be certain but some of the calm might be rubbing off :)
