    Hi,
Today my salesman gave me the vin # for my new truck. The Toyota owner's site has the specs, but says "date of first use - December 31." I don't have it yet. Can I track where it is using the vin?

perhaps you can try via the toyota connect app? If successful, it'd be creepy, since you can get a VIN number fairly easily :anonymous:

Is it actually your truck, as in papers are signed, payment made and registered to you? If not, it's not your truck so it could be anywhere, including someone elses driveway who offered the dealer more.

Mine says the same. I think it's a default for any new car that hasn't reached it's dealer yet. I have been plugging in all kinds of vins from new Tacomas I've seen on websites. They all say the same for first use.

I don't think I'm headed for that kind of drama. This will be the 4th new Toyota PU from this dealer, because they've been straight with me so far.

Doubt any consumer would have access to Toyota inventory systems............. but your dealer does.

Then ask them to tell you where it is.
