I have a 2016 Tacoma V6, 27k miles. Out of the blue I had the engine and trac light come on when I started it up in the morning with slight shaking. I limped it in under 35 mph to the auto store to get the code read. Its reading P0306 and P21D4. P0306 indicates that cylinder 6 has misfires while P21D4 indicates the fuel injector is stuck?

The store recommends I replace the fuel injector. They did suggest I try cleaning it first. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

The warranty should still cover it? Is it safe to drive ~7 miles to a dealership with a misfiring cylinder?

Apparently its not included under the warranty (double checked the book). Dealership quoted $837 if I had to replace both port and direct injector.

It stopped raining so I could go and checkout under the hood. Got advice from others and they were 90% certain it was from rodents chasing the wires because fuel injectors rarely fail. Sure enough, they were right.

    Tell me more.
My 2018 Tacoma is throwing same codes, the one code read P21d4 (12 pending), I'm not sure what that means.
Can you provide info on where the rodents chewed your wires? We have looked but have only found one we had to repair. The diagnostic scan threw PO301, P0306 and P0300 (of course) also.
    Thanks!!
