While the rest of us are trying to WFH until retirement... I mean death. Or eternity. One of those things.

Who we kidding, he took the hovercraft down the hallway to his office. :).
When there's a snowstorm I tell my wife I better take the day off. She kicks me outta bed and tells me walk to work. Down the hallway.

Fortunately my office is in my bedroom, so my commute time is much shorter!

Spent most of my day deleting peoples personal files and photos off the server without asking in prep for a Nutanix migration! Can’t wait to start getting requests for recovery!

Maybe this belongs in here, I want to run internet into my basement, currently my Router/wifi is upstairs (all Ubiquiti, EdgeRouter/Unifi). Someone was saying to try using an outlet wifi to ethernet adapter would be the easiest route. Thoughts?
My wife uses the basement for her business and wants to set up a desktop down there to run all her shipping labels etc off of but we don't have Wifi on the desktop. I do have a cheapy Belkin wifi Dongle I could use, but that thing is hit or miss.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
Ethernet over power is an option, but becomes less stable when crossing circuits.

You can install a wifi card in the desktop for cheap that will give decent performance.

Another would be to install a wifi extender and run Ethernet from it to the desktop.

Through power is an option it CAN become unstable. If no streaming or video calls are going on it may be alright. Is there any conduit that runs to the basement?

I've had good luck with powerline ethernet for streaming devices. I prefer this over wireless due to signal consistency. I have a 27 yo house, and honestly, I can't tell you if I'm crossing circuits since I haven't flipped breakers to check. That said, it's not high speed. I recently upgraded to TP-Link AV 1000 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084CZMYNM/) and am getting around 50-60 Mbs which is nothing near the indicated 1000. Since I was upgrading from AV 600 I knew this going in.

Another vote for powerline, I’ve used it for a few things and it works fine.

And please please please don't make me work on the video conferencing equipment. Especially when it craps out just as your important meeting starts with a room full of luminaries.

I got a new work laptop (ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 + Thunderbolt 4 Dock) and figured I'd put Win 11 on it so I can find the issues I'll need to deal with before I roll it out to users.

It's funny, every issue I find is something that will only impact me (or, in the case of not being able to have labels on the taskbar, probably only annoy me).

I went to push updates to my Hyper-V cluster today and it failed immediately. I've been running this cluster for three years now, and it's never failed:
    CAU-Fail.jpg

For the heck of it, I installed cluster aware updating on my Win 10 test VM and tried it. It's going just fine like it always does. I blame the Windows 11 version of RSAT for messing it up:
