Not a Taco but a Toyota

Very bad service from Toyota, my Sister-in-law owns a top of the line Rav hybrid. It is a 2019 with 37 K on it. It will not start as there is something wrong with the hybrid system. They come with a 60 K warranty for the hybrid system. They refuse to cover the repair bill for it and it sits undrivable as they can't find the parts to repair it. The is really poor service and workmanship Toyota !!!

 

Can she try a different Toyota dealer servicer? Have her contact Toyota corporate maybe. Toyotas aren't immune to failure. If it's under warranty then the liability is on Toyota.

 

They didn't find any modifications that would justify their refusal?

 

There has to be more to this story. You say they won't cover the repair bill but cannot find parts?

I will update when I find more. I did mention to call Corporate. And she is 60 and would never do any mods. She may not have given me all the pertinent information.

 

You should probobly delete this thread until you know what is actually going on.

 

If anyone is interested My SIL heard from her dealer. The hybrid system on her Rav has a corroded wiring harness. Apparently not the first time that this happened to the to the Rav. They offered her a Corolla to drive with 180K on it. She bitched and got another Rav to drive. So they are looking after her.
