random question, but do any of you have dash cams in your tacos? i've been thinking about getting one ever since i got sideswiped in my civic and the guy successfully argued to his insurance that i changed lanes into him, my word against his meant everyone loses and pays for themselves... didnt care about that car so didn't fix it, but i do care about the tacoma and perhaps some video evidnece would help in those situations.

Ive got one in mine and definitely recommend it. Also comes in handy when off-roading and you don’t have a go pro to attach anywhere. I didn’t hardwire mine in, just plugs into the cog lighter. The video quality is great as well. Give a good price of mind as well. Here is a clip from mine back in July- https://youtu.be/-SVdpXYdrUM

I got one for the truck for Christmas. The very next day (before I had time to install it) someone hit me. Going to install it as soon as it is out of the shop.

I had a similar experience with my old Jeep, and I've been thinking the same thing to protect the '18 Taco

That one was a Apeman C550 but I’ve gotten a new one since then. I wanted one with wifi and now have a Rexing V1P plus from Best Buy. I’m not too impressed with the wifi functionality but it does work. It’s just you need to turn wifi mode on the camera each time you want to connect

Ooh front and rear, I like that. How hard is the install(assuming it's hardwired?)?

Yup and it has a built in battery so it can record if it detects your truck being hit. I didn’t hardwire it but I don’t “think” it’s that tough, you’d just need to figure out what wire to feed the power and any fuses you want. I think there are kits you can buy
    For that too.

How did you like the Apeman? Does it plug into the cig lighter for power? I would like to get one for my sxs.

It was a nice little dash cam. No issues with it and good video quality. If I didn’t want one with wifi (and found a good deal on it) I would have kept the apeman. @Sauer Taco has it now, maybe he put it in and can offer another opinion for you. I did like the power was to the cig lighter but it also had a USB port on there.

So much for the snow. Dropped the truck off at Jim Coleman for 90k service and 3rd brakelight TSB/"recall" and there was nobody else there, said most of their appointments cancelled due to snow or school cancellation. However since its raining, they want to keep it overnight in the garage for the sealant to cure for 24hrs. Get to test drive a hybrid Rav4 in exchange.

Then went to the MVA to get a clean title for finally paying it off and same thing. Was in and out of the MVA in under 10 minutes. I sure hope they keep the appointment and mobile check-in system they've implemented during COVID.
