Trading in Tacoma with kdmaxx pro

What would happen if I trade in my 21’taco that has kdmaxx pro and dont flash back to stock??? If i leave it on the truck what would happen if the next owner goes to get a tsb update at a dealer?? Should I just flash back to stock ??

 

Probably a good courtesy move to flash it back to stock. Possibly leave a note in the vehicle for the new owner. If you are local to each other you can install the tune for him.

 

Nah, I wouldnt worry about that. That sucker would instead have a free performance tune.

 

If you’re close to your tuner or you have VFTuner, flash it back to stock. If not, forget about it. A few have already been traded in tuned. A gift for the new owner!

By the way, what are you trading it in for? New tundra?

I have a torque converter shudder issue that toyota has constantly said is a normal characteristic of the vehicle. 80% of it goes away on Kdmaxx... thats why i want to keep it on. Just wondering if any issues with the truck in the future render it having to get a tsb update if that screws over the next owner. Genuinely curious what happens if they do a tsb while the truck is tuned

I looked you up and you are on 04b82. This is up to date. If the dealership hooked up to your truck and tried to do a TSB update, it would say that it is not needed because you are up to date.
I do not see Toyota updating your truck any further than 04b82. Their focus is on the new models.
With all that said, IF there was an available update for 04b82 and the the dealership did a TSB on your tuned truck, it would just overwrite the tune and go to the updated stock tune. No problem.
