is there a special bolt with a torx or allen head that makes it easier to install these bolts without dropping them in the transmission housing? I'm pretty sure they are 9mm 1.25 pitch x about an inch.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have only ever used these Bolts from the dealer

If your correct on the size my go to for Metric Hardware has No M9 bolts at all.
