I had my AT for 18 months before I finally got tired of it and traded for a MT. It’s now been almost 5 years and I’m still driving the MT

the 3.5 is actually a good motor but you’d never know it with the automatic. It’s a night and day difference between the two. When I first drove the MT, I couldn’t believe it was the same motor, it felt like a completely different truck.

Then if you want to take it up a notch, do the adm to make the clutch act like you’d expect it to

and if you want to go a step farther, add the tune for a noticeable increase in low end power and smoother delivery.

i also agree, and you can continue making steps beyond this that will continue to improve the experience significantly. keep on working until you're happy.

    Look and see.....
Good morning all. Reading in this thread has me excited for my 22 OR 6MT to arrive (March maybe? Supposedly being built now). I pulled the trigger on a 21 OR AT last year and, while I love the truck, the constant gear hunting up hill with cruise control on drives me bananas and I'm even KDPro tuned. The tune itself is still amazing as it blows the stock tune WAY out of the water.

I've been driving manuals for 20 years so driving only an auto makes the driving experience feel empty.

'88 MAZDA 323 (blew up the WRX twice)

Looking forward for returning to some more engagement in daily life real soon.

Every other vehicle I've ever owned, auto or manual, has done just fine on hills with cruise control. Very irritating habit to break. Lol

The nice thing about the adaptive cruise control is you can downshift while in cruise. So if you come upon a hill that is too much for 6th to handle, you can drop down in to 4th or 5th until you are past it, then back into 6th, all without having to disengage the cruise control.

So pushing in the clutch doesn't disengage cruise control?

No. Pushing the gas to accelerate does not disengage cruise control either (nor does it change the MPH setting). The break disengages cruise, as does pressing the button on the end of the cruise control stick (turning it off), and pulling the cruise control stick towards you (canceling the current setting).

Edit: I should add the ECU knows the clutch is pressed and does not rev the engine when shifting with cruise engaged.

    Well thats just bizarre. Lol.
The only car that the clutch didn't disengage the cruise control was my Ford Probe, and it would recline the tach really quickly. Haha

Was only going to buy a 3rd Gen with a manual. You get the better gearing plus style points.

Wow, cool on adaptive cruise. I will double check my 2016, I always assumed clutch kills cruise. Wish I could retrofit that and BSM.

Nope. Clutch Cancels CC on pre-TSS-P Tacos. Small price to pay for the reduced gizmo count.

BSM and parking sonar are too much in my book. Useful..... But if you bumper tap something, now you're out thousands.

And it makes aftermarket a pita
