Go test drive a Benz with this option. It’s like being in a nightclub. Feels silly and fun all at the same time.

I wonder if there would be a way to wire it to a switch for on/off? Also forgive me but what is PWN?

Yeah I can make that. It would just be a relay on the output of the PWM (pulse width modulator). I’ve just never seen a switch for footwell lights so we scrapped the idea.

PWM is a method for dimming lighting by cycling on/off and varying the duration of on to off. This method is used for LED lighting which requires a constant (or more to the point, minimum) voltage to turn on and cannot be dimmed by variable resistance like a halogen or incandescent bulb.

Pulse — the “on” portion of a wave, and in this context it’s a digital signal so a 1 or 0, on or off
Width — the amount of time (duration) of the on signal
Modulation — adjustments to the pulse width resulting in brighter or dimmer lights.

Stalking. These would totally come in handy when I'm out on the trail...It'll be nice just having to open the door instead of grabbing my headlamp.

They’re comin! I’ve been getting promo shots and clips from various people that received sample units. We’re trying to coordinate one solid release date for all vendors.

I'm definitely interested. I would prefer a color match with the dash light if you work it out. Otherwise white for sure.

I'm interested. A dim ambient lighting that's not distracting but helps to shed a little more light at night would be helpful. The AT shifter lights are so damn bright it's distracting. My families Ram 2500 has a nice amount of ambient lighting and it's really helpful to be able to use peripheral vision to fish around for stuff vs. having to really take your eyes off the road.

I'd be up for a set that's close to the dash ambient lights. Not opposed to white either, as long as it's dimmable and not super bright. I guess blue on dim is close?

I'll be following to place an order. As long as it's simple to install, because I suck at this kind of stuff.

The aqua blue (closest to the dash lights) is perceptually dimmer than some of the pure white shades in the lineup. So I think you’ll be pretty happy with them when on ambient at night. At first you’ll probably notice it more just because there’s a new light on at night in the truck you’ve driven thousands of miles in. You notice everything out of the ordinary. But I found that over time I don’t even notice the ambient light anymore, but it’s pretty helpful to have when I drop something while driving. Mine have been on the truck for about 4-5 months now.

    An update!

All of the kits are currently in transit to the northwest. Given all of the shipping delays happening across the world, we are anticipating these to take a week or two to get here. From there they have to get sorted and sent out to the dealers. With that said, we are going to allow authorized dealers to start taking pre-orders on January 27! The time between when you place your pre-order and when you'll have product in hand could range from just a day or two to maybe a week or two -- it all depends on how jacked up UPS is next week. Placing a pre-order will at least reserve a kit for you, but please understand there may be a small delay depending on the current shipping situation (which is why we're classifying this as a pre-order even though everything is complete and in transit :)).

    Authorized dealers:
    • VLEDS
    • Hotshot Offroad
    • Guild Outfitters
    • Runnin4Tacos
    • TacomaBeast
    • Cali Raised LED
I expect you will start seeing videos and promo released on and around the pre-order date. I will link to different dealer websites on the 27th -- understand that not everyone will partake in the pre-order. Some dealers are moving quicker than others. I have about 30 PMs asking if I (Kyle) will be selling kits, and the answer is no. Please use a dealer -- I am simply the wire harness manufacturer for these kits.

Thank you all for your interest and motivating us to make this happen. We're all excited, and let me know if you have questions!

Yes this release is 3rd Gen only. However, I am working on the 2nd Gen Tacoma kits -- just waiting on a couple things to arrive from Japan and I should have a prototype cranked out next week. 5th Gen T4R to follow after :D
