Get the Dee Zee tool box anchors made specifically to use in the bedrails.

I have pics of the install in post #13 in this current thread.

What are all the dimensions for the UWS tool box? I have 2005 Tacoma, 6’ bed.

I got a UWS. They make great boxes, but I bought the little 12 wide box and that messed with my bed cover plans.

I wrapped the UWS logo and customized.

Has anyone tried and underbody storage box?

Not sure if I will have room under there without removing my spare... Plus I do a lot of off-roading so it's probably not the best idea.

So, my 3rd gen 2016 double cab long bed slid off my driveway during the recent snow-megeddon. Mistakes were made. No room behind the seats for the new tow chains and come-along needed to pull it out. So, I was now in the market for a tool box for the bed.

    I wanted this from HD:
    Husky
    Model # 102102-53-01
61.86 Matte Black Aluminum Low Profile Crossbed Truck Tool Box

Even though the description specifically says it will fit, the tape measure says no.

I got this one from Lowes instead:
    CRAFTSMAN
    Model #CMXTBAD73217204
    61.5-in x 20-in x 13-in Matte Black Aluminum Crossover Truck Tool Box

    Tie downs from Amazon:
JGR Pickup Truck Tool Box Tie Downs Aluminum J Hook Crossover 4 Pack, Black
    Manufacturer Part Number JGR-1064

Plugged the holes with Gaffer's tape from Amazon:
Allstar Performance ALL14253 Ultra-Professional Grade GAFFER’S Tape, Matte Black

I'm going to put an old garage mat in the bottom when I get around to cutting it down to size.

I'm not a fan of the wedge shape, but at least I have reasonable access to the front tie downs underneath it.

Locks/unlocks and opens/closes from either side.

Is it the best quality? hell naw
Is it one of the cheapest? hell yeah

    Hello!

signed up to ask … are you still happy with your setup?

I found that box and my Taco is a 2016 … I need a simple system for basic stuff. Would you install it again knowing what you know now? Would you do anything different?

    thank you!

    jim

I bought them at Toyota of Dallas over 7 years ago...it's the bed bulkhead rail.
    Bed rail part #-PT278-35100-BH @ $33 ea.
Bed rail cap part #-66134-04010 @ $8 ea.

I suggest you find the best deal from an online Toyota dealer, using the part numbers to search.

This may be a blast from the past, but thanks for posting this! I'm looking at this exact box. How has it held up?

I am curious, does a toolbox that fits under the tonneau cover exist? I mean a regular toolbox not a drawer system

Three bolts into t-nuts just below the hinge into the factory bed tie in rail. Not shown in the picture. Pictures were taken prior to mounting. I am also using about a 1/4" of high-density foam tape between the box and the wheel wells. The box is 56" wide which leaves 1/4" of gap between the box and the bed rails on each side. The thought at the time was to leave room for a canopy/topper. The custom part is it the stock version was 60" wide and part of what ProTech called their RV line of boxes. Something that I do not see on their website any longer. But they are known for also doing fully custom. The item number shown should tell them what the box is. Dimensions are 56" wide x 20" front to back x 10" tall.

Awesome thank you! Think you can snap a picture of the attachment to the bed rail? Did you seal up the holes so water cant get in? This is exactly what i want to do because i also like to use my softopper and want a toolbox that does not get in the way.

Tomorrow I can. I used the same foam between box and the bed rail.
