I noticed that this rubber hose has been leaking and leaving a pool on the skid plate? Does any one know why or if it needs to be replaced what is it called? It is a 2014 v6 4.0

And to answer your question @Anothertacomadriver, yes, if it is leaking you should fix/replace it.

Try repositioning the hose clamp down a hair so it will sit on some fresh rubber

    Try what @b_r_o said.

While I generally don’t like the screw type clamps. I your case, I bet one would work fine and be semi-permanent.
Obviously you’d want to make sure the cap isn’t split. If that’s the case. You aren’t going to fix it with a clamp alone.

I call them a fu cap because it’s sole purpose to to fail and dump your coolant out. My Supra had a bigger one on a pipe. It failed while I was on the freeway, suddenly smelled coolant, started working my way over to get off, about a minute later my needle is pegged in red. So I bought a bunch of them, changed them annually until when my motor was apart, I welded it shut.

Mine still hasn't failed. I'm going to just replace it with a normal hose and a fuel shut off valve.

I didn't know that was there! Thanks for turning on my OCD on preventive maintenance!

They put a cap there but not on the PS reservoir where one would be most useful. Would probably be best not to have one at all.

I ran into this same issue. I replaced the cap and clip, still leaked. So I put some epoxy, no issues since hahaPXL_20210222_230931461.jpg
