in theory, wouldn’t that cancel everything out assuming you have a trade and it’s value is inflated as much as the new truck price?

The Tonneau Cover is absolutely a factory option only. Any tonneau cover put on portside is aftermarket, which has been known to happen in the Southeast.

    Is that a serious question?
Well I was banging my old lady in a very awkward position on top of my Diamondback Cover with pants around my ankle and next thing I know Fob Flies in the air and breaks upon contact with hard surface. What the hell difference does it make what I was doing or why it wasn’t in my pocket.

    If you must know:
I was going to open the passenger side door unlocked using Fob dropped at the wrong angle cracked open and that’s that. If you would like to know where I shit in the woods

After almost a year of being a lurker, I've decided to make an account just to say 1 thing. I have a 2021 Trail edition. The ones without the locker the 22s get. One of the main problems I've had is finding a toneau cover that fits this trim. Pretty much everything online says except trail edition. Based on my research, I believe the issue is the boxes. The boxes take away the clearance needed to mount a toneau to the rail system. With the boxes installed, you pretty much have like less than half an inch of clearance to the rail system. The result is that you can't physically get the bolt/washer/mounting hardware needed onto the rail. Just wanted to make sure everyone on this lovely forum considering a trail edition is aware of that. Thanks for taking your time to read my post.

thanks for letting us know! That’s something I hadn’t thought about but doesn’t surprise me at all. Those boxes really take up a lot of space

Does that include the OEM tonneau? I know that it does not utilize the rail system to mount, but there is hardware in that vicinity.

I bought a Leer one off Amazon and was able to install leaving the boxes in, however I later decided I didn't want the boxes anymore so I removed them. Anyone want to buy them?!

Try the Truxedo Pro X15. I had that one on my 21 Trail Tundra and it worked great.

Will be interesting to see how it works since mine is coming with a tonneau cover installed, but no mention if it's a hard folding style or a soft roll-up.

Honostly, I'm not 100% sure on the OEM one. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in. I personally wouldn't buy that one even if it did fit just because it makes it more difficult for me to access the bed and as far as I know its just cloth. I personally would want one that at least has aluminum in there so I'd feel safe leaving my valuables in the bed.

The problem with this one is that it is a one piece cover without any metal in it. So from my understanding someone can easily put a knife through it and take all of my valuables.

I have the same issue with this one as with the others. No metal in cover = valuables in bed at risk from my understanding.

That’s what I saw on the press release. However, they also told us in the press release it wouldn’t be shipping with the front air dam, and here we are. So maybe take with a grain of salt but yes I would say there aren’t many 21 Trail editions in cement

Hi, I only have one concern why is there no fog lights on the new 2022 Trail Edition model. On you tube a reviewer said that Toyota was following DOT Rules, because of the 1 inch lift. TRD Pro was lifted 1.5 Inches and still comes with fog lights. I just ordered one and was asking if the rest of the Tacoma lineup does come with it. Thanks

I like the part how they say they have no info on an unreleased model when literally they’re on dealer lots as we speak.

I don’t know if we will ever get an answer about why the front air dam isn’t deleted.

Maybe. But for me it's not even about that, it's about value.

I'll be real honest here, I don't think any Tacoma EVER made is a 50k truck.
