What is the better alternative drive wheels on the front axle, FWD? Or drive wheels on the rear axle, RWD?

FWD is more efficient and less expensive to produce, but RWD seems to be preferred over FWD.

FWD is much better if you have to drive on snow/ice. RWD is better for towing and aggressive driving. Depends on what you want to do. Most people with cars and small SUV's/vans will probably be well served with FWD. Bigger vehicles that carry loads/tow, or sports cars are best with RWD even if it costs more
