    I just got a new 2022 Tacoma and have a crazy question Are the needles on all the gauges not suppose to light up?Looks like to me they should!

    They are lit when the lights are on (Parking or Headlights).

    During the day (lights Off), they are not lit. It is a feature, not an issue as with the Taco, you will not be driving around with just the DRLs on. Full time backlit gauges are a curse on society. :D

    OP, my needles only light up at night with the rest of the gauges.

    I wish the gauges were full time backlit so much. My previous 2 vehicles were and it makes things considerably easier on the eyes during the day and looks wicked cool.

    Those idiots that don't know how to turn their headlights on at night tho.. that's a whole other thing lol.

    I know that it is a personal preference, but I am completely pleased with the current setup on my Taco and have disliked fulltime backlit gauges on other vehicles. But, the worst is the digital only panels. Looks cheap AF on my bosses MB.

    Agreed on the full digital gauges... unless you have an LFA or something ultra rad that actually needs em.

    the engine bay candle in my '16 works to back-lite all my dash instruments. The wax keeps making a mess!
