My guess is one is reading from the ABS sensors and the other from an output on the back of the transmission

on my 09 when i regeared/ changed tires it was way off. It has the transmission speed sensor that it uses. On my 13, when i regeared, the speedo did not change. It also doesnt have the speed sensor on the trans/tcase so i theorize its taking that reading from the ABS sensors. Both of my trucks are manuals for reference

The Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator is a device that will allow you to adjust the Speedometer. I was looking into getting one myself.

Swapped fuel rails and injectors tonight. These are plug and play 550cc flow matched injectors from FiveOMotorsports. The truck is idling grossly rich even at idle, so thats where im going to start with the tuning and then go from there and rework most of the fueling tables. These combined with the 840cc 5th injector should be more than enough fuel for what im going to do, and the truck is one step closer to being ready for the 7163:D

Shoot. Going to have to pull a ton of fuel from idle and low load RPM, I imagine. Good thing you have that AFR calibrator for sure.

Might be able to turn off that 5th injector. Depending on how much fueling you need for the HP you're planning on making.

@MadTaco461 has that size for his 2RZ I believe?

Yeah it’s fighting me right now, stock ecu is very unhappy. Ive been trying to pull fuel and adjust the afr module but it doesnt seem to be responding to it. Maybe someone could share a table with me that theyre using so i could compare the idle areas. I bet mine are way off

I wish that I had mine from years ago, but even that was 550's on a V6.

If @MadTaco461 gets the chance, he should know best.

I should be able to get my fuel table up for you today. Mine requires that your fuel pressure regulator line be plugged into your manifold.

Looking at the picture above, his looks like it is routed from the charge pipe.

Which makes me realize that I need to reroute the line on my friend's truck.

Would this essentially mean it's boost referenced? If so, we're good there

It does, but not vacuum as well.

so it sounds like fuel pressure would stay at 3 bar in vacuum and then add pressure when it sees boost. Am i understanding that correctly?

It needs vacuum and boost. Basically t into your boost gauge and we be good. The vacuum helps a ton for idle and driving.

When vacuum referenced, it will drop down to "x" psi, below its base unreferenced pressure.

As the vacuum climbs to atmosphere, pressure then follows back to baseline, at 0. Then increases as the pressure increases above atmosphere, or 0 or 14.7.

So it sounds like i could just cap the driver charge pipe and run a new line from the regulator over to my vacuum block and i'd be in good shape since that's hooked directly to the manifold. And then that would help lower the fuel pressure and help it not run so rich in vacuum/low loads?

Is the reason the charge pipe not seeing vacuum because it's before the throttle body? I am trying to wrap my head around this and i think the light bulb came on lol. When i hooked up my water methanol you have to put the nozzle before the throttle body because it will siphon it out if it sees vacuum (ie post-TB).

    Howdy John :hattip:

    That would definitely be welcomed

Tee’d into the bov since thats right by the fpr and i didnt have the 1/8npt fitting needed to add a port to my vacuum block.

Alright so i went back to my base tune and pulled 35% fuel from the primary and secondary fuel tables. The new injectors are 58% larger roughly and dropping the fuel pressure by about 22% is how i came to the 35% figure to start. I also went back and adjusted the afr adjust table a little bit to make the ecu a little happier. It seems to be running better already, so hopefully things will improve from here with a few more revisions and once i can compare. Short term fuel trims are already way way better

It's way easier to tune large injectors with a manifold reference. Things should work out well with the idle now that your fuel pressure is lower at idle.
