I had mine replaced last year from Safelight, $200 deductible and I don't the have TSS sensor in the grill so I had no issues.

I guess it just depends who you get. Safelite replaced mine without issue. I did think I had some wind noise at first (mostly noticable with water/rain) but I later realized all of my windows (including sunroof) do this depending on the direction of the wind

    None.
Wind leaks around the windshield, whistle, clearly whistle. My water leaks would drain down the inside of the windshield.

My SafeLite installation problems spanned multiple mobile installers and visits to two different brick & mortar stores.

At the location that finally fixed the serial problems were (only) customers that had experienced failed installations by other SafeLite installers. None of us were first-timers.

Based on my experience and the others sitting on the Group W Bench, the multitude of different problems suggest to me, a gross mgt failure across their entire metro Detroit area operations.

I had mine replaced at 5K. USAA insurance handed the claim off to Safelite. After one “interaction” with a Safelite rep as I informed them I wanted OEM glass, I let USAA know our business relationship would be over if I had to interact with Safelite again. Had it replaced at my dealership, paid my comprehensive deductible and things have been great since then.

I’ve had one positive windshield replacement ever. One.

I’ve had five windshields in my Tacoma. Only two were due to glass damage.

Two windshields on my 2020 so far. First one was small crack, used local glass shop who sent to dealer for recalibration, everything was perfect.

Second one was some larger debris on highway, windshield and $10k in body damage. Body repair was great but whoever they used for the windshield snapped the tabs off the wiper cowl. I didn’t notice at first but the washer jets now spray the cowl and the hood instead of the windshield. Local dealer told me $500 for plastic cowl and a couple weeks to order.

make sure to check the cowl is not floating around after windshield replacement
