Anyone have Remote Connect (remote start) on their 2021 Tacoma from Hawaii?

Hey there,

My Toyota app does not show that 'Remote Connect' is on my vehicle, when according to (mainland) Toyota my 2021 TRD Sport AT base audio should have it standard. Purchased from Servco.

Supposed to be standard on:

TRD Off-road AT base audio
TRD Sport AT base audio
TRD Pro DC AT
TRD Limited

Can anyone confirm that they do have it? Would love to discover that I have remote start on the truck! Thanks!

 

Update, I can start via the fob, but not the app. Would love to get the app working. Doesn't seem like a regional issue though any more.

 

I think it is a regional issue. I also have a 2021 TRD off road and cannot start it from the app. I can start it with the fob though.

 

That's so strange, right? I really wish we could figure it out, I'm going to try and talk to Toyota and see if there's a fix. Would be really nice to be able to start from the app. Thanks for the feedback!

 

I agree, let me know if you get it figured out. I may try to stop by Toyota tomorrow, since I’ll be on Kahului side for appointment.

I have a 21 TRD Sport. Remote start with the Toyota Connected Service works. I can start it with Amazon Alexa as well.

Yes, the Toyota App. Servco Honolulu. If it makes a difference I got the Technology Package.

 

I have it on my 2021 Limited. Bought it in Jax, FL. The app works OK. I wish it had the remote functions the MyHyundai app has for my wife's 2020 Santa Fe: set the temp, turn on heated seats, defroster and set engine duration.
