Brians F/R Locked Long Travel Camping and Overland Build

Went to Vegas this past weekend and visited CVT.

 

Nice! I visited them in Chattanooga 3 weeks back...

 

Ive been to that store and its a hole in the wall compared to the Vegas store. I think that's the main hub. She was saying how the Chatt store really doesn't even compare to that one and the one in Bend OR. That dont stock the Chatt store as much as other 2.

 

I know that silly... I was just happy to meet the actual CVT employees I had dealt with over the phone and via email so many times.

 

Yea it is nice! Oh they said that they are doing away with the hybrid series and moving to the adventure series which she couldnt even tell me the diffrences when i asked lol. She said i would have to talk with owner bobby about that. But it looked almost identical to the hybrid. I think the cover was nicer or something. Its the dark grey tent in the pic above with the New Thielson tent (side open)

 

Maybe that helps explain why the hybrids were on so much bigger of a discount sale for black Friday than any other series...

 

probably, But who really cares, hybrids are awesome in my opinion. Their only down side is the weight. Dont know how they could make them any nicer

 

I don't know how they would trim weight either... I mean the aluminum plate they use is already super thin so you aren't going to save weight that way. I think the extra weight really comes from the heavier/thicker tent fabric.

 

yea i think thats where it comes from as well. Id rather it be heavy duty and heavy lol.

 

Me and you both. Not really intended to be constantly lifted once installed, so a little extra weight for durability is fine by me... although since I am not using the extra memory foam mattress topper on this one (because the hybrid mattress is much better than the one in my pioneer series) I think I actually trimmed a couple pounds...

 

Have an extra set of wheels I’m gonna throw these 35 slicks on to see how I like the bigger tire lol

 

Seems like a lot of expense to just look... paying to mount them and all.

Also, I am a psychic and already know the answer to how you will like them...

you have to put the @ symbol to tag someone. Just FYI haha. But ive had no complaints really outside of slashing a side wall on one of them(wasn't tires fault i was on very sharp rocks). They have been great. Easy to balance and great looking with low noise.

 

Thanks! Been eyeing on these for the next set.

 

Think you'll be happy. They have really jumped in price since i bought them too.
