To be completely honest, I’m at a point where I don’t even want the product anymore. I’ve gotten so bitter with this company that I really don’t want to support this company, even if they do make a decent product. I’m sick of the false promises and lack of communication. The fact that I have to get my info from an online forum is ridiculous. I’ve found another company with an amazing product and their service is much better. If my VO order is really at powder coating, that’s great, maybe they can list a new Drifter for sale so someone can skip the 2.5 year wait.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but by giving them a deposit you entered into a contract. You can cancel now, but you most likely won't get your deposit back, especially if it is almost complete as in they have paid for all labor and materials. You're probably better off selling your spot, NOT ON THIS FORUM, or waiting until it's done, paid in full, and you own it, which I think would allow you to sell it to someone on the forum since it is a tangible product, and just let them pick it up at VO's shop. I would think you could make a grand or two extra for someone who really wanted it now.

I agree under normal circumstances, but I was also told the build would only take 10 months. I can understand being delayed a few months, but 19 months and still no actual ETA? I’d have to say VO hasn’t honoured any contract entered with any of their customers for a very long time, especially since it still says lead times are 12 months on their website.

I emailed awhile ago asking for a refund and haven’t heard a thing. Keep us updated on what happens. My concerns now are if I ever get a product, what happens when I need a part? They will never get it made or I could never contact them for help if needed.

I really want to see VO succeed so I’m rooting hard for them. @Community You will have no problem selling your camper or spot, especially if it’s about to be done here in the next couple weeks. Hope whatever the outcome is you get the camper that you will enjoy!!

That is a valid concern, but fortunately, for any non-Aluminum main body part you can likely file a warranty with the fan/door/accessory company. There is little to fail on the Vagabond itself that will need warrantied or fixed that you can't do on your own with off the shelf parts and knowledge from us on here.

Today is 27 months and three weeks since I ordered my Drifter and paid a deposit that was just over $5K. I'm grateful to find this thread and to know that I'm not alone in my frustration with the wait and Vagabond's inability to respond to emails. When I looked up the Vagabond Outdoors profile with the Better Business Bureau, I was surprised to see that there has only been 1 complaint filed in the last 3 years. If I get to 28 months without communication from Vagabond, I'm pretty sure there will be another complaint filed with BBB. I don't know what good it will do, but it might get a response.

    Welcome man.

Yeah frustration is well communicated here and has been for a while. Although with the news of the batch of 10 in the shop and unprompted communication to myself and another member about campers going to the powdercoaters, I'd say the last month had been the most enthusiastic time in this forum since 2020.

Making some large assumptions, at your number I can't see any reason you wouldn't be in the next batch. That's not much solace I know but it's the most we've seen in years.

In the meantime enjoy the wildly great quality of the 300 pages of the build thread.

Also BBB doesn't really do anything. They're a corrupt business in their own right.

This is by far the best news I have had in my time waiting! Has anybody been able to work out the rough turnaround time for a batch of 10? Looking at the sheet, it looks like nothing after 160 has been delivered so do they really have 20 campers in process/tbd?

If they are really able to work on 10-20 campers at a time, then I am hopeful I might actually take delivery this year!

I am going to be passing thru the bay area in early March and plan to stop by the shop just to say hi and see what I can learn about delivery. I should be more frustrated with how long it has taken but no other camper quite matches what the Nomad has. I am content with using the camping setup I have while I wait so it's not stopping me from taking the trips I want to, I know that's not true for everyone and that sucks.

Due to a recent shop expansion this is the first time Vagabond is doing a batch of “10”.

Hope the most recent 10 get their “come pick up you Drifter” email soon. When you do go in please try to find out what the build schedule is for the next batch. I really hope this group of 10 wasn’t a one off. #181 here.

Nope, but I don't even know if I'm actually in production (#175), because you know...

You must be 184 because I'm 183 and I still haven't been able to get my 2nd invoice.

Order 172, no pickup email, just the email about free powder coating to cover aluminum damage so I ASSUME mine is in the current batch but I don’t have any confirmation.
