I've looked. I seen the thread for the scan gauge codes regarding Trans Temps already. Great for towing and wheeling in the heat.

My old XJ has an oil pressure gauge that moves when I use the gas (pretty neat). Why don't we have this in a 2014 Taco? There has to be a code.

If no one knows, I'll find it and post.

The Tacoma doesn't use a linear feedback pressure sensor and gauge.

It is only a normally closed contact that opens when the correct pressure is present and turns off the oil pressure warning light. In other words it is only an idiot light.

There are no codes that will display for oil pressure. You will need to get a gauge and a different type sensor to display the actual pressure.

Oil pressure isn't really useful. Not many trucks have it anymore.

The idiot light is all we need.

There is no digital signal for OBD OPS on tacoma.

It isn't useful, until it is too late....

Saved my engine a couple of times now, due to lower than "normal" pressure. Caused me to find some potentially catastrophic leaks.

Not a mod for most, but very very helpful if it does become a consideration.

If you had major leaks, you should have caught damage caused by low quantity through checking the dipstick long before you caught them because of low pressure.

Negative. Does not apply. That assumes that spontaneous events cannot happen. Such as an oil Cooper line rupturing while driving.

Again, "Not a mod for most, but very very helpful if it does become a consideration"

I've known members who've cracked their pans while off-roading. Some who've hit road debris. Both examples are scenarios where a gauge would prove valuable. Necessary, no. Worth is user subjective.

So what mods can be done? If the stock oil pressure sensor is simple yes/no, are there compatible sensors we can install that have a range of values that can then be tied into a scan gauge for on the fly reading? Please excuse my ignorance. We all must start some where. I agree, a dummy light is already too late. Same exact scenario with trans temps too. I like to know how its going down there when I'm towing up hill in 3rd gear.

On top of the oil filter housing kinda behind where the filter sits, I'd snap a pic but I'm not near my truck atm.

An oil sandwich plate here, which has ports for sensors is a good source for a pressure reading.

Greddy makes them, Mishimoto, and a host of other manufacturers. Here is a link to the Mishimoto one. Their simplest version.

3/4 x 16 UNF is out thread patter.

Lots of ways to make it happen - adaptor with oil pressure and oil temp senders installed....

I was looking into installing a oil pressure gauge onto my 2nd gen , i figured the sandwich plate was the simplest way to go but then i remembered the oil filter housing has that large fin sticking up to catch oil when you change the filter. Did you have any interference while installing that sandwich plate? did you have to make any modifications to get it to spin on or did it clear it just fine?
